Dear Volunteer and Prospective Volunteer:

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lisa Miller and I am the new Events/Volunteer Coordinator for The Lands at Hillside Farms. I am very excited about my opportunity to become involved with the mission of The Lands at Hillside Farms: the preservation of this landmark property, restoration of agricultural operations and the wonderful educational initiatives being offered.

I come from a retail management for more than a decade and educational background, most recently as well as a farming family. My grandfather was a dairy farmer and I have been involved with horses most of my life, which included barrel racing and team penning events. I also have two children that I want to be raised with the values that are associated with the farming community.

I realize that you have been a volunteer here or you are interested in volunteering on the farm and I would like to invite you to contact and me and let me know if you are currently interested in our mission. There are many things that still need to be done on the grounds, even on a daily basis, as well as many events taking place in the upcoming year.

One of the things that I am looking forward to is our Annual Fall Fest on October 4th, 2008. After that is our Victorian Christmas Sale on November 22nd and 23rd. We are starting now to get geared up for the 2009 season and planning ahead. I am very open to suggestions and ideas from any or all of you since this is a team effort.

We need the support of the Volunteer Team to make things happen within our organization. I would invite you to come to the farm and meet with me and take a look around and see what is new and happening.
